My life can be defined as a continuous state of creative production punctuated by times of intense maintenance and responsibility, focused on change through innovation and aesthetic civility working tirelessly to define creative purpose in quality of life. At Lobe I has been focused on liberated listening as a path from the analog to the digital as harbinger of our species evolution. - Donna Lytle
Fundamental and Universal
“With Fundamental," writes Lytle, "I was focussed on the interface of analog and digital sound and the world of hybrid generation. I wondered about the breath of sound, and how it cures and defines us as a species. ‘Fundamental' is an origin story that very broadly mimics our evolution. We feel the variable rhythm, or breathing, of wind very differently than the magnified digital hum that carries on assimilating everything. We hear a signal of technological force and an all-consuming flux."
Universal maps the aural excitement of a pool hall rendered in 4DSOUND in order to bring the listener into the table, citing our body’s sensual attraction to our games. The sounds of words need no translation to express the universal enjoyment of human utterances at play.
