Hannah Acton is a writer, researcher, and movement analyst based in Vancouver, Canada - the unceded traditional land of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Her work explores embodied processes by which a shared vocabulary for lived experience is generated. This work operates at the intersection of poetic, pedagogical and therapeutic modalities to promote literacy for the gestural and paralinguistic expression of human and non-human subjects. She continues to develop a personal methodology for integrating somatic awareness and authorial intention as an independent researcher, through community engagement, and within a client based practice.

Hannah Acton holds a MA in Cultural Studies from Goldsmiths College, London (2014) and is a Certified Movement Analyst and Somatic Practitioner by LSSI, under the mentorship of Janet Kaylo in Zagreb, Croatia (2017).
