LIVE ARTIST | MOTHER CLOUD SPATIAL SOUND FESTIVAL

Jack J is a musician based in Vancouver, BC but born in Sydney, Australia. As one half of Pender Street Steppers and a member of the Mood Hut collective/record label he has lent a steady and influential hand in shaping the sound of Vancouver dance music for over a decade.

His early releases were met with open arms; songs like ‘Something (On My Mind)’ and ‘Thirstin’ were named amongst the best songs of the 2010’s by both critics and fans. In 2022, Jack expanded the scope of his artistry with 'Opening The Door', a full length album encompassing bittersweet pop-rock, dub and ambient folk recalling the emotional landscapes of 80s John Martyn, the vocal stylings of Arthur Russell, the songwriting sensibilities of Prefab Sprout and the studio-as-instrument experimentation of Adrian Sherwood.

After recent US and European tours with his newly formed live band he is currently working on is follow up LP is due summer 2024.
