Jonas Olesen

 

Danish composer Jonas Olesen (b. 1979) works as a sound artist, often drawn towards antiquated technology and experimental sound-generating methods.

Olesen’s past collaborations include artists Terre Thaemlitz, Christian Marclay, Posh Isolation and Merzbow.


Jonas also runs BIN, a Danish record label focusing on peripheral audio and editions of historical and contemporary electronic and experimental music. Together with Rasmus Cleve Christensen, Mikkel Vide Petersen, Magnus Kaslov, Jan Høgh Stricker, and Kasper Vang, Jonas Olesen co-runs the Institute for Danish Sound Archeology, which engages in uncovering and releasing historical Danish electronic music and sound art.
