MOTHER CLOUD opens Wednesday evening with an address and blessing from elders Sharon Jinkerson and Gilda Morgan. After this opening, Lobe's co-founder Edo Van Breemen is joined by a group of friends and collaborators to welcome us with an improvised set that delves into the infinite possibilities afforded by the multichannel speaker array Lobe has installed at Performance Works.
For the rest of the night, prolific pioneer in ambient electronic music, Robert Rich, performs a long-format live set, taking audiences deep into the immersive worlds he builds on a listening journey through his extensive catalogue. Rich is a genre-defining and generous artist who we are honoured to present, and this event marks an occasion we have wanted to bring to Vancouver audiences since Lobe opened in 2020.
