How Do You Here Me?
50-minute spatial sound experience
Gemma's work investigates the concept of embodiment for joy, pleasure, self-reflexivity, social change, and pedagogy in pursuit of health, healing and deeper connections with one another. Her art practice explores different ways of knowing, beyond cognition, by encouraging feeling through aesthetic affect. This sound project is motivated by research in how the removal of the visual body, as a template for human experience, might facilitate an embodied experience.
Working with sound as a felt sense and for the creation of physical presence, How Do You Here Me? explores the potential for bodies re-manifested in space, through sound.
