This program features artists of Asian ancestry and celebrates the immeasurable ways Lobe’s spatial sound community is shaped and supported by artists of Asian heritage year-round.

Inspired by her connections with the natural world, plant medicines, and ancestry, Vanessa Lefan樂凡 Yuen works with sound, movement, images, and words as ways of storytelling, connection, and inquiry into the intangible aspects of personal and collective experiences.

Sapphire Haze, comprised of Cindy Kao on violin and Aysha Dulong on electronics, utilizes sound-to-colour synaesthesia as a compositional tool. They work in a hybridized model, and aim to blur the distinction between acoustic and electronic sound.
