MOTHER CLOUD | Spatial Sound Festival 2024

Join us for our annual winter festival showcasing international and local performances in the emerging medium of spatial sound. MOTHER CLOUD takes place at Performance Works on Granville Island, where an array of over 60 speakers are installed to fully immerse the audience in crystal clear spatialized audio.

Its program reflects the wide range of musicianship, purposes, and practices multichannel audio technology is being enlisted by. We offer both full festival passes and individual tickets to the afternoon and evening programs each day.

As the only music festival powered by 4DSOUND in North America, this event connects local and international artists working with this software by presenting their work alongside one another. MOTHER CLOUD celebrates the particular relationship between artist and audience that spatial sound systems manifest, through their capacity to suspend time, thicken space, and diffuse temporary worlds.
