On March 29 at Lobe Spatial Sound Studio, Astronautica presents an exploration of ancestral soundscapes with futuristic experimentation, offering an otherworldly journey through the interconnected micro and macro dimensions of our universe. Weaving together terrestrial and celestial sounds, Astronautica crafts an immersive experience where tradition and technology converge, melding NASA’s recordings of deep space with echoes of ancient traditions. Mixed in Lobe's 4DSound System, this spatialized album release is sci-fi sound in motion, where time bends, frequencies collide, and the cosmos sings. Astronautica is the dynamic collaboration of Andrea Wong (guzheng, violin, voice, electronics) and Ruby Singh (tambura, fujara, voice, electronics). Their electro-acoustic soundscapes traverse ambient, experimental, and electronic realms. Astronautica crafts boundary-pushing compositions that blur the lines between past and future, culture and innovation, where time is porous, pushing and pulling in multiple directions.
