Join us on November 17 for an Immersive Sound Workshop at Lobe Spatial Sound Studio!
Date: November 17, 2026
Time: 6:00 - 9:00 PM
Location: Lobe Studio 713 E Hastings St, Vancouver
Cost: Free, as part of the Immersive Symposium
What does it mean to co-create immersive sound?
Join Ruby Singh and Vanessa Yuen for a hands-on workshop exploring spatial sound, collaborative composition, and Lobe’s unique sound system and software, 4D Sound. Bring your recording devices, phones, and anything else you like to use to create and capture sound. The workshop will culminate in a new collective for Lobe and a listening session to hear it come to life in the room.
Presented by:
IndieFest 2026, re:Naissance Immersive, MOVE37XR, and Lobe Studio. With support from the Canada Council for the Arts.
Who can join:
Space is limited to 10 hands-on participants and 10 observers. Active participants should be able to digitally record and edit audio using a tool such as Ableton or Reaper. No prior experience with spatial audio required. All levels welcome as observers.
Participants: you're experienced with audio recording and benefit from hands on learning. You're excited to collaborate with other artists and are open to experimenting and adapting quickly.
Observers: you still want to learn about spatial audio but don't want the pressure of creating a collaborative piece in a short timeframe.
Please indicate on the form which role you would prefer (active participant or passive observer).
All spots will be filled by random selection.
To apply: Complete the sign-up form by November 7. Selected applicants will be notified by November 10.
